Raspberry Pi Certified Educators shine at ISTE 2017

Everything’s bigger in Texas, including the 2017 ISTE Conference & Expo , which saw over 20,000 educators convene in San Antonio earlier this summer. As a new Raspberry Pi Foundation team member , I was thrilled to meet the many Raspberry Pi Certified Educators (RCEs) in attendance. Snapping Stills with the Red TED Letters

I’m a bit of a TED talk fiend, so I was delighted to find out that a few Raspberry Pis had a hand in letting TEDsters capture their photo along with the iconic red TED letters at TED2015 in Vancouver. Pi Talks at PyConUK

You may remember our Education team attended PyConUK in Coventry last month. We ran the Education Track, which involved giving workshops to teachers and running a Raspberry Jam day for kids at the weekend. We also gave talks on the main developer track of the conference. Carrie Anne gave a fantastic keynote entitled  Miss Adventures in Raspberry Pi wherein she spoke of her journey through teaching the new computing curriculum with Raspberry Pi, attending PyConUK the last two years, being hired by the Foundation, and everything she’s done in her role as Education Pioneer

We even employed a Minecraft expert in our efforts to reach more young people and teachers. For the first time this year, we get the opportunity to combine our teacher training efforts with a conference and even a Raspberry Jam thanks to our friends in the UK Python community, who run a volunteer-organised annual conference called PyconUK .
