A chicken incubation system

As Chicken Week here at Pi Towers draws to a close, we are all thinking deep thoughts about roasting temperatures and the very best fillings for omelettes. The eggs Dennis Hejselbak is working with are not for omelettes. Dennis, who lives in Denmark, has built a Raspberry Pi-powered incubator, complete with camera.

A Smart Programming Language for a Smart Cities Hackathon

Liz: Here’s a guest post from Bernat at Wolfram, who has been putting the Wolfram Language on the Pi to work at a Smart Cities Hackathon in Barcelona. We have a Google+ community for the group to post ideas, share interesting links and ask each other for help and we hoped they would also use it to arrange to meet up outside of the organised field trips: within the first month, one of them found the Art Hackathon and suggested they go along and take part

Modulo: a simple, modular solution for building electronic devices

We came across the excellent Modulo  on Kickstarter recently. Modulo is a “modular solution for building powerful electronic devices” and consists of a cluster of smart modules such as sensors, motor drivers and displays that slide into a solid base unit. It abstracts all the jumbliness of building electronics from scratch and lets you concentrate on concepts, design and programming cool stuff
