You’ll notice I’m posting quite late today: it’s because I’m in the US for LinuxCon, so I’m out by a few time zones. (Thanks to Clive for looking after the blog yesterday.) Eben gave a keynote yesterday, immediately after Gabe Newell (who didn’t give any hints about Half Life 3 – sorry, Ryan)

MagPi issue 13: out now, and free to download!

Team MagPi have wiped their bleary eyes after celebrating their first anniversary issue, and have come up with a magazine for June that will have you playing the Archimedes version of Elite on your Pi, writing racing games in Scratch, and making music with Schism.

And we’ve now got several pre-production cameras in the office that we’re testing and tweaking and tuning so the software will be absolutely tickety-boo when you come to buy one. Gordon is in charge of things camera, and he’s got ten boards to give away.

Lifehacker: a beginner’s guide

Lifehacker are publishing a series this week on DIY with your Raspberry Pi for beginners. The first article in the series went up yesterday ; it’s a very simple howto on getting started and set up (even down to a list of peripherals, and how to flash your SD card). We’ll be keeping an eye on this series: we’re looking forward to seeing what beginners’ projects they come up with!
