Inspired Raspberry Pi Projects at Maker Faire

We get to read about and see an abundance of project builds through online channels, but we especially love when we get the opportunity to meet the makers themselves as they share their projects first-hand. That’s why an event like Maker Faire continues to be so successful. It provides a platform and a dedicated space, if only for a weekend, for makers and tinkerers alike to come together and share with other enthusiasts.

Pimoroni is 3

For Pimoroni’s second birthday, we finally outgrew the old spring-storage workshop in Neepsend. After hunting for a while, we found a new home near the train station in Sheffield. The new Pirate Ship is almost 8,000 sq ft of workshop and office that works pretty well for us, especially since it’s close to Street Food Chef and the Rutland Arms

Pigeon Pi

By day, Robert Threet is a systems manager at the University of  Southern Indiana in Evansville. But when he’s not knee-deep in network hardware, he races homing pigeons. Credit: Robert Threet Pigeon racing, which I’d always thought was the preserve of people from the north of England with flat caps and whippets (calm yourselves, commenters: my granddad was a man from the north of England with a flat cap – no whippets – and his friends were  all over this stuff; budgie shows, too) turns out to have a following in the USA as well

Today, we’re happy to announce a new partnership with the Computer History Museum to launch a pilot of Picademy in the United States

This is what the website looked like back then: We’ve come a long way since that first post: the blog has seen two ( 2013 , 2014 ) major redesigns (as well as that joke one ), and it’s brought you eight product launches ( Model B , Model B rev2 , Model A , Camera module , Pi NoIR camera , Compute module , Model B+ , Model A+ and Pi 2 Model B ); we’ve announced Picademy , free learning resources , our million pound education fund , we announced we’re sending Pis to the International Space Station , we’ve run several competitions and many more education initiatives as well as featuring countless amazing Raspberry Pi projects.
