It’s with an almost rude amount of excitement I can announce that issue 36 of the Official Raspberry Pi Magazine, The MagPi, is here ! It’s bigger and – dare I say it – better than ever too, with 100 pages of amazing projects, interviews, features, tutorials and reviews. Click the pic to buy the print edition from the Swag Store today & have it delivered to your door. It’s not just here in the virtual – download your free PDF edition today – sense, though. It’s also here in the physical – take me to the smallest room of the house – sense too.
As many of you know, our very own Carrie Anne Philbin spent most of last year writing Adventures in Raspberry Pi . For some reason she keeps reminding me that, with 4.8 stars out of 5, it’s currently the highest-rated Raspberry Pi book on Amazon; I can’t imagine why . Five star, schmive star The last few chapters of the book concentrate on hardware interfacing using the Pi, and require a variety of electronic components.
A lot of you have had huge success in the last few months using our very own Carrie Anne Philbin’s Adventures in Raspberry Pi as a resource for kids of all ages. It’s engaging, friendly and works really well in getting kids excited and confident about using their Raspberry Pi. So much so that we’ve found schools are ordering classroom sets; so are after-school clubs, and we’ve had amazing feedback from kids and their parents
If you’re in the UK and you’re looking for a last-minute present for someone this Christmas, there’s still time to get a Raspberry Pi, a starter kit or other Pi goodies: we’ll deliver them to you in time to get them under the tree.
New in the Swag Shop : big vinyl stickers, just the right size for hiding any logos you don’t like on the front of your laptop, and little vinyl stickers, just the right size to cover up the logo on the Windows key on your keyboard. These things are tough, and have what I understand is called “high-traffic glue” on them to make them stand up to your typing. There are some other new goodies available this week too: a logo mousemat , and a very swanky rubberised drinks coaster, which goes splendidly with a cup of coffee.
